In Italy, science is useless

Italy is a strange country: worldwide science and progress are considered the resource on which to base the welfare and development of future generations, while in our beautiful country is all that science is regarded at best as an incomprehensible nerd pastime carried out by some difficulties in social relationships, at worst a practice useless or harmful.

So these days you hear talk of closure of many scientific bodies, block of turnover until 2012 and block of the salaries until 2013. But many other things you do not hear about such the "white strike" researchers, tired of making education free of charge and have no prospects for the future or that the turnover blocked destroys the entire departments that already today are under the minimum staff to remain open.
While the government to humiliate and destroy the research, the prime minister's television broadcast shows such as Mystery, pretending to talk about science, but service pack scandalous as the one dedicated to CERN.

televisiva. Il problema è che la trasmissione MISTERO rientra a pieno
titolo in quella categoria di trasmissioni "spazzatura" che non solo
sono inutili (sarebbe il meno...) ma sono addirittura dannose poiché,
invece di chiarirli, i "misteri", li creano ad arte laddove non ci sono.
Nella puntata in questione:

- i conduttori hanno ripetuto più volte che al CERN si celano "misteri"
oscuri, come se si trattasse di una setta satanica. E se è vero che lì
si sondano i "misteri" della natura, non è certo questo il senso con cui
quei pagliacci degli autori hanno voluto fare intendere la cosa

- si è parlato della possibilità teorica di creare dei micro buchi neri
(assolutamente innoqui, ammesso che esistano), che naturalmente, nella
"traduzione" degli autori della trasmissione, è diventata il pericolo di
distruggere l'intero pianeta se qualcosa andasse storto, anche perché
nell'LHC "Turn" monstrously large energies such as to cause explosions

Now I say, but an institution such as CERN, as
can put their image in the hands of the people of this sort? Let me be clear: I'm not criticizing
as told by people at CERN
interviewed in the course of transmission (all absolutely correct and sober), but only
the decision to entrust the material provided by you (the interviews
fact) to broadcast "junk" whose sole purpose is not
the correct information (let alone the science!) but
exclusively the hype, fear, doubt, the "mystery "
exactly, but in its most abject and miserable. In fact, the
result was that the material was "drowned" in a broth
scientific nonsense and suggestions medieval
took over the real nature of what you are actually doing to
CERN with the LHC, and statements sober, rational and deliberate fatte
dagli scienziati intervistati, sono state, alle orecchie di un pubblico
non specialistico, completamente oscurate dalle domande incalzanti e
tendenziose e dai toni sensazionalistici e allarmistici dei conduttori.

Per concludere, vorrei invitarvi (nel caso non lo abbiate fatto) a
riguardarvi per intero e con attenzione l'intera parte della puntata
riguardante l'LHC ed a valutare seriamente quale possa essere la
"sensazione" che l'uomo della strada (perché è lui il target della
trasmissione, non lo scienziato!) ha visionando il filmato: se quella di
una seria istituzione scientifica come il CERN oppure quella di una
setta satanica che opera sotto terra per

We are in a country where the research is true to his knees and pseudoscience are served up without criteria to the population. I hope that someone in the government realize the seriousness of the situation and take immediate action. I signs of crisis we are all, who does not see them is because they do not want to see and they will have to take responsibility in the near future.
